As a Windows web application specialist you will be passionate about delivering high performance, stable systems which underpin the earning potential of the business. Understanding the importance of response times and high availability will be second nature and of continual focus.
You'll know that uptime and availability are massive factors for success but the systems also need high quality configuration and documentation for support. In order to deliver the best possible experience to our customers you'll ensure that our operational, technical, and non-functional requirements are delivered to the highest standard.
Plan, manage and provide Microsoft infrastructure and application support to agreed service levels
In company with internal development teams, administer production web site infrastructure and associated staging environments.
Assisting the internal support team to administer Microsoft Windows host operating systems and infrastructure.
Reviews support priorities and allocate/assign work as required
Ensures all Microsoft Infrastructure issues and their resolution are entered on to the Help Desk system to maintain a knowledge base.
Produces configuration/installation instructions and documentation for use by Systems Engineering and Service Desk staff.
Architecture and design of the companies Microsoft systems.
Identify and manage disaster recovery requirements.
Ensure accurate change control and configuration management of systems
Hardware fault diagnoses and supplier maintenance

The person selected for this position must be able to show that they have relevant practical experience of:
Website application support for 24x7 transactional ecommerce websites, ideally hosted on an IIS platform.
Website Infrastructure technologies, load balancing techniques etc
Advanced IIS configurations, Tuning of IIS web servers and services
VMware virtualisation
Cache technologies
Network, OS and Application monitoring tools.
Incident and other reporting including system specification and recommendations
