Bespoke Trading Manager
Principal Accountabilities:
To develop and manage a trading framework that will enable the client to secure business opportunities that require a tailored solution, including the review of performance to ensure governance, profitability and growth objectives are met.
The job will involve visits to and negotiation with our trading partners.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Review existing “bid process” with internal / external stakeholders with the objective of recommending an improved, fit for purpose, trading framework.
- As evidenced through positive feedback and opportunities secured, obtain buy-in from stakeholders in the trading framework.
- Manage the trading framework and virtual team to ensure resource is allocated effectively towards opportunities which represent the greatest return to the client and support the overall strategic plan.
- Ensure Senior Management is aware of the current position of opportunities and the performance of secured business, including any blockages which may impact on delivery.
- Personally manage, with input from Business Development non-standard opportunities with a year 1 GWP value in excess of £250k.
- To ensure a “schemes governance”, manage the performance of live deals by developing a robust review process for all tailored solutions.
- To support the trading framework, manage a simplified financial deal template with buy-in from Finance and other stakeholders.
- As a result of market and internal feedback, continually review the trading framework to ensure it is a self-financing proposition.
- Ensure the trading framework adds value to the client and impacts positively on the bottom line trading result.
- Act as the initial point of contact / expert reference for all new non-standard opportunities and utilise authority as ceded by Finance / Underwriting.
- To ensure that our customers are treated in accordance with the principles of treating Customers Fairly.
- To work co-operatively with colleagues to adopt an environmentally friendly culture within the client and adhere to the Company’s green approach within the workplace.
- Provide a weekly update at the C.M.T. and monthly summary at the B.D.R.G.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Skills:
You will possess a comprehensive understanding of the UK General Insurance Market with previous experience of handling complex broker opportunities and deals.
Essential Qualifications:
Insurance qualification. PC Literate, intermediate level in word and excel. Willing to consider additional qualifications in Project or Bid Management.
Soft Skills:
You will be flexible in your approach to work, well organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines. An excellent communicator, you will be confident at liaising and presenting to senior management (both internally and externally).
