Data Centre Application Migration Architect
As an Application Migration Architect, you will take the lead on working with bids and proposals for new business and creating the strategy and architecture for complex Application Migration programmes; liaising with clients and senior stakeholders at every level
Responsibilities:
You will have strong IT architecture skills, with a good technical and functional awareness and experience validating requirements against proposed solution and technical architecture;
- Strong experience in application rationalisation / data migration / platform migration projects.
- Experience in a large enterprise environment
- Provide innovative technical solutions to complex hardware/software problems.
- Work directly with customers and vendors to identify innovative solutions and actively apply those solutions.
- Provide the necessary support for clients to meet their business needs.
- Minimize client productivity loss caused by technology outages.
- Assist in creating and documenting policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing information to management, clients, and peers regarding health of the environment, enhancements, innovations and solutions.
- Schedule and coordinate installation and maintenance of standard software/hardware on the network and ensures compatibility of all communications and computer hardware/software.
- Understand SLAs in a production environment and proactively strive to meet the commitments.
- Assist Account team(s) when required with client consultation including assessing and recommending architectural designs/changes to client systems in response to performance issues, growth requirements,
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the market and competitive trends in Datacentre Infrastructure / Managed Services
- Working knowledge of network topologies including firewalls, switches, routers, and content switches a plus.
- Strong background in Server Operating Systems.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.
- Ability to perform intermediate root cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience in a large Data Centre environment is essential.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
