 Data Statistical Modelling 

Asentis on behalf of sports betting company are currently seeking a highly talented graduate Data Statistical Modeller 

Have you just graduated university in data modelling, statistics or a maths based discipline? Do you have a strong interest in sports and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment? Then this role could be the ideal for you. 

You should have a strong mathematical background (degree level or beyond), with, ideally, a good knowledge of Excel, VBA and data manipulation and an interest in sports and statistical analysis. 

You’ll also need to show a flair for actual mathematical/statistical modelling of sporting events. 


Specific Role Details: 
The successful candidate will be required to - 

- Learn spread betting methodology and general bookmaking principles; 
- Write test scripts for various sports models in excel. (in house training will be provided); 
- Perform testing of new model functionality – this is not only a vital role for deploying new models but is also a key part of the training to learn about our offering and model methodology; 
- Monitor and analyse competitor offerings through the web; 
- Cleanse and arrange data sets, and perform some data analysis (under supervision as required). 
- The ability to work alone and as part of a team client-centric mentality; 
- Strong organisational skills and unparalleled attention to detail; 


Candidate Requirements: 

- The candidate must be educated to degree level in a data modelling statistics or maths based discipline; 
- experience in Modelling and forecasting;
- Have the ability to asses and optimise existing workbooks;
- Have experience in developing VBA multithreaded projects; 
- Have experience with databases and data manipulation; 


Ideal Candidate Requirements: 

- Knowledge of statistical software packages such as Matlab, SAD, Stattab; 
- Experience in developing in MS Access, Oracle or SQL; 
- Strong interest in sports spread betting.
